CTG press release: 12/05/09
Sector bodies gather evidence on opt-out Gift Aid
The sector’s key umbrella bodies are continuing to work together to increase the value of Gift Aid for the sector whilst reducing the administrative complexities. To this end, the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations, Charity Finance Directors’ Group, Charity Tax Group, Institute of Fundraising and National Council for Voluntary Organisations are asking their members for their views on Gift Aid as an opt-out system. Charities Aid Foundation is also working alongside the sector bodies on the project.
The online survey forms part of an evidence-gathering exercise that will inform the organisations’ further exploration of the alternative system and discussions with HM Treasury and HMRC.
Responses to the survey, which can be found at www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk/giftaidcampaign are invited until the closing date of Friday 12th June 09.
