Tax Law Re-write Project Consultation

As part of the Tax Law Re-write Project, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) are re-writing income tax provisions relating to Gift Aid and charitable trusts. The drafts were revised in July 2006 to take account of the clauses in the Finance Bill 2006 relating to charities, as well as comments made as part of the consultation exercise. In particular, parts of the draft Income Tax Bill dealing with Charitable Trusts have been revised.

The project team has invited comments to be made on the drafts, by 25 August 2006. They plan to publish an updated version of the draft Income Tax Bill in September.
